HOW TO BEHAVE MORE LOGICALLY 11 WAYS!!!

Don’t attack a human’s character but focus on attacking the argument and/or opinion (ad hominem). Don’t ridicule, name call, put down, insult, and humiliate a human hoping that you can dominate the discussion or argument with this uncalled for intimidating and often rude aggression.

Don’t misrepresent and/or exaggerate a human’s argument and/or opinion to make it easier to attack (straw man).

Discuss or argue a position based on factual premises and don’t beg unfactual positions.

Avoid assuming that all preceding events are actual causes of subsequent events if there is no logical correspondence.

Sometimes admit that there can be more than one cause of an event.

Don’t assume that ignorance makes a claim true or false or a combination of both.

Don’t put the burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt on the human that is questioning your claim.

Don’t make causal claims that one follows the other if there is no logical or historical assumed correspondence.

Don’t assume that subjective popularity of a point of view is always proof beyond a reasonable doubt that it is objectively true.

Don’t just use one example or a small number and assume that it has general applicability to many effects, causes, or situations or don’t generalize too quickly.

Ask for a definition of a word that you don’t understand the meaning of fully. If no definition is forthcoming then you can challenge the inappropriate usage of the word. Vague definitions imply uncertain validity and possible falsehood or error.

6 LEARNING TYPES OR SUBSETS!!!

RANDOM MEMORIZATION of information without making any logical connections:

Examples are memorizing random dates, times, scores, words, and numbers. One may feel that rote memorization of the words for animals and kitchen utensils is memorization without thinking but children do think and make logical connections between the words and relevant objects and/or subjects and/or actions. Memorization without thinking is only possible if you are memorizing random meaningless numbers and/or words.

MEMORIZATION is memorizing information and/or a word with one or more logical and/or illogical connections to reality.

You can say that memorizing 2+ 2 = 5, God is Love, Love is God, Liberals are Conservatives, and cats are omnipotent are all illogical statements but they can still be memorized. Fortunately most memorized words such as robin, home, quarterback, anger, jealousy, running, and volcano have some logical connections to reality. Sadly many fantasies, fictions, and lies can be memorized and believed and this memorization of “bullshit” is a very common cause of irrational or illogical thinking in humans.

Memorization of information can be almost anything but the primary forms of non verbal information are visual, audio, physical or muscle and touch, and other sensing information within the body.

MEMORIZATION OF CAUSES AND EFFECTS:

This includes the memorization of visual, audio, physical, and other sensing cues which relate to internal body senses and the sensing of the external environment of objects, subjects, and actions.

Examples are memorizing that you will burn your hand if you place it on a burning stove too long, breaking bones and possibly killing yourself if you jump from a 20 meter roof onto a concrete driveway, a visual memorization of parts of a movie, a memorization of instrumental music, and making someone angry, aggressive, or shocked if you push them too hard for no reason at all and call them an asshole.

CLASSIFICATION: Memorizing the details of something or memorizing the subsets of a set:

Examples are memorizing the parts of the body, the parts of a gasoline engine, definitions of words, separating movies or songs into genres, and all the names of animals in a species.

ANALYSIS: Taking a set and finding as many subsets as you can even though some of the subsets may overlap themselves:

Examples are statistical analysis, numerical analysis, making an outline for an essay, analyzing musical and video transitions, analyzing the defensive strategy of an opposing football team, and finding and listing all the ingredient preparations and/or additions in a recipe.

SYNTHESIS: Taking subsets and trying to form sets with them:

Examples are taking Legos and making familiar object shapes from them, mixing two or more chemicals and making them react, taking all the parts of an engine and assembling them into a complete engine, selecting an offensive play to counteract defensive actions of an opposing team, and using paints to form a picture.

***Creative or innovative learning is just the process of subconsciously and consciously analyzing and synthesizing information or objects, subjects, and actions, sometimes in a very impulsive way, and making some cause effect experiments or assumptions, so creative learning is really not a unique form or type of learning.

THE TRUTH ABOUT UNDERLIE*

Underlie: v. to be the cause and/or basis of a subset(s)

Sometimes the motives which underlie the reason we don’t do something is not always obvious. Do most humans not steal because they are afraid of being caught and punished or is it because they truly believe that stealing is the wrong thing to do morally or is it a combination of both reasons?

THE TRUTH ABOUT CAUSE+

Cause-and-Effect4

Cause: v. (to begin and/or to end) a subset(s) and/or to continue a subset(s)

A cause can start or begin something, it can end something, and it can cause something to continue for duration. It logically seems like everything must have a cause or a beginning and I tend to agree with one exception.

The universe may not have had a beginning because whatever or whoever caused it must also have had a cause which preceded it or him or her. In effect whoever or whatever caused the beginning must have also had a cause which brought it also into existence.

This logical dilemma is still looking for an answer and no creationist theory is valid whether the universe only theoretically began billions of years ago or just 6000 years ago. There probably really was no beginning of time or space in the universe and there never will be an absolute end to it all!!!!!!

The awesome fact is that there was no absolute beginning to the universe and there will be no absolute end. The universe has always existed and will exist forever beyond infinity!!!!!!

THE TRUTH ABOUT CHANCE+

okzkr9tk

Chance: n. an event(s) which seems to have no meaningful and/or overt cause

There are still many humans who believe that luck or chance plays a major role in human lives and don’t actively take steps to improve themselves and make long duration goals in their lives. Many things happen which don’t seem to have meaningful causes and if they have a cause then it is an overt one and not a covert one.

If you believe that randomness rules the world then you will forever be under the influence of chance events which you really can’t prepare for. The truth is that there is always some randomness or chance in your life but you ultimately can do much about your circumstances in life with conscientious active determination and goal making and trying to achieve those goals with deliberate effort.

THE TRUTH ABOUT DESENSITIZE*

Desensitized

Desensitize: v. to cause a human(s) to decreasingly react to an identified subset(s) by subtracting the intensity of a sense(s) through natural and/or unnatural processes

Perhaps the most important sense area of desensitization which exists is that of taste. Young offspring have very natural non desensitized taste buds and are great judges of what tastes good and what doesn’t and what is nutritious and what isn’t.

Continue to bombard young offspring with spicy, salty, bitter, very sour, overly unnaturally sweetened food and drink and their natural taste buds are thrown out of balance and they can no longer successfully discriminate between a good or bad food or drink. In effect their natural taste buds have become desensitized with bad food and drink and become habituated to the nonorganic, cheap, minimally nutritious, highly processed foods and drinks sold in many common retail establishments.

Excessive fear of visual sensory inputs or phobias can be cured or greatly reduced in intensity by exposure to them in safe environments and associating good feelings with the previously feared objects or lifeforms. Desensitizing phobias is one of overexposure to a phobia under safe conditions with other safe stimuli or positive emotions overlaying the bad phobic ones.

The brain soon begins to interpret the visual phobic inputs as not to be feared ones and the phobia begins to greatly decrease in intensity and may at one point even be erased from memory to the point where acceptance or accommodation with the phobic subject newly exists. It is very hard to translate a phobic fear into one of love for the phobic subject but it is not always impossible given enough time and sufficient behavior modification and/or therapy.

I love all snakes and other feared wild animals even though my mother greatly feared all varieties of snakes and spiders.

Desensitization to violence is possible with video overexposure to violent acts and the brain effectively develops a calloused reaction to violence thus minimizing the empathy which we should feel for the victims of violence.

Artificial desensitization with drugs is also possible but they frequently are effective only as long as they are used and sometimes do not result in long duration desensitization. The disastrous side effects are usually not worth any short duration benefit which you may derive from their use.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SHOCK*

more-democracy-the-solution-not-shock-therapy

Shock: v. to cause a speedy increase in electrical activity and that includes the brain

Electrical shocks are common knowledge but there is also human shock which results from being offended, attacked, insulted, put down, ridiculed, harshly criticized, lied to, threatened in some way, etc. Brain shock is the human counterpart of electrical shock because there is a sudden surge in electrical activity in the brain which is considered dangerous to it.

There is also a sudden increase in electrical activity in the brain when pleasant or very pleasurable things happen but we do not consider those human reactions as being shocking. Shocking implies danger so shock just applies to the human bad reactions of the senses to things such as bad tasting food, sharp things to the touch, perceived visual threats, etc.

THE TRUTH ABOUT EXPERIMENT*

experiment

Experiment: v. to use the scientific method to reach a (judgment(s) and/or conclusion(s)) and/or to determine the probability of a cause(s) and effect(s)

Science has made remarkable progress because of the scientific method, mathematical rigor, and experimentation verifying that results can be duplicated in the lab and in effect proving that a theory or formula is valid or true.

Outside the lab reality is different and not so mathematical and only probability statements can be made about the possible cause and effect relationships between often vaguely defined variables.

There is no certainty in statistics and no true cause effect relationships which can be verified over and over again with mathematical accuracy. Social and political science are sciences in name only and do not meet rigorous scientific standards.

Statistics on political polls are a perfect example. A poll can vary from day to day and the wording of the questions asked greatly determine the truthfulness of the answers. Some questions are so vague or misleading that humans may decide to answer the way they are expected to answer and not how they truly feel about an issue.

Financial wealth, occupation, married or unmarried status, age, education, region of the country, and differing beliefs and opinions all make polling potentially very unreliable with bad predictive value. Even statistics and polls on who you will vote for can change almost overnight due to some political statement a candidate may make which changes the opinion of many voters overnight.

You can consider questions asked humans and the answers gotten as experiments on them to determine cause and effect relationships for them. If they are not lying then your results or useful information about an individual will be quite reliable but if the person is deceitful or lies then your conclusions about him or her will be inaccurate and not very useful.

THE TRUTH ABOUT FORCE*

force-1vc6k6y

Force: v. to cause a subset(s) to move and with a lifeform(s) it is when moved against its will bodily.

It takes force to move a physical object and force and the threat of force can also move humans which is called coercion. Persuasion and requests are the civilized way of interacting with humans but that assumes an appropriate upbringing which teaches the rules for peaceful human interaction.

As long as humans live by internalized moral rules and laws which govern behavior they can interact peacefully with one another. Take away moral behavior and society begins to descend into violent chaos or anarchy. Tyranny takes over when humans are minimally governed by an internalized moral code which makes peaceful interaction possible without force or the threat of force being constantly used.

THE TRUTH ABOUT PROVOCATION+

provocation_photo_invitational

Provocation: n. unintentionally or intentionally causing and/or motivating anger and/or aggression

Motivation is usually getting someone to do something good whereas provocation is motivating one towards anger, aggression, or doing something bad.

Ridicule, harsh criticism, put downs, name calling, and insults frequently cause or provoke anger and sometimes even physical violence. Taunting, pushing, and hitting will sometimes provoke physical aggression as well as anger.

Provocation is usually unintentional but there are humans who delight in provoking others intentionally, especially if they are considered enemies or humans whom we greatly dislike.

In childhood provocation sometimes leads to fighting because the selfpreservation urge is great and if a child feels that they are being attacked verbally or physically then they will respond in an angry sometimes violent uncivilized way.

If your provocation was unintentional then the smart thing to do is to apologize or say that you are sorry that you provoked them.

THE TRUTH ABOUT LOGIC***

download (1)

Logic: n. being skilled in accurate reasoning

The more mathematical our reasoning is the more logical it is and if science can be included in our reasoning then it becomes the ultimate in explaining the existence of phenomenon in this universe.

Some reasoning is not very mathematical and it is cause effect reasoning or the assumption that one or more causes create one or more effects.

Deductive and inductive reasoning is really a skill at following a cause effect chain from beginning to end (deductive reasoning) and from end to beginning (inductive reasoning).

The concept of spatial arrangements using sets and subsets to describe the universe makes the most sense logically and is a way of grouping things and/or events into connected clusters.

Logic is really making accurate correspondences between movement or verbs and/or the environment or nouns. If we accurately describe the world and the way it operates then it has predictive value and we can make similar descriptions about the world in the future or past. If we make inaccurate descriptions of the world in the present then it is not very useful and has little or no predictive value about the future or past.

Nothing is more important than accurate descriptions of words or definitions because if our definitions are vague and inaccurate then their use in the world will also be rather vague and inaccurate.

The humanities and pseudo scientific politics and sociology uses badly defined words to try and describe reality and it is relatively useless with little predictive value and is mostly a statement of statistical norms and not cause effect relationships.

To make the humanities more logical I have attempted to define words more logically and have new more accurate definitions for love, hate, empathy, pity, cruelty, steal, deception, etc. and this more logical approach makes greater sense than ever before and makes possible more rigorous or accurate descriptions of reality.

They are not scientific definitions so their predictive value is not absolute but at least it is a step in the right direction in making language more logical and less emotionally biased. More logical definitions means a smarter language and humans who use the words with greater understanding will make smarter more logical choices in their lives.

If you have accurate reasoning ability in an area of expertise then you can be said to be logical in that area of expertise under many circumstances.

You are being logical if you can accurately find correspondences between a cause and effect or a series of causes and effects.

You are also logical if you can find relationships or correspondences between a set and subsets and between the subsets themselves.

You are also logical if you make accurate probabilistic communications about events.

You are logical if you accurately use historical precedents and present observations to make relatively accurate predictions about the future.

You are logical if you can use mathematics to describe the relationships or correspondences between variables in physics, chemistry, and biology.

You are logical if you use the scientific method to discover new facts, relationships, or correspondences between variables, sets and subsets.

You are logical if you can make accurate correspondences.

You are logical if you accurately predict the future behavior of a human based on historical precedent or based on the behaviors of that human or a group of humans similar in behavior to that human.

You are more logical if you use words with accurate logical definitions and not vague badly defined ones.

Finally you are logical if you can accurately observe someone’s emotional state and can predict another’s behavior relatively accurately. You are also logical if you can control or change the emotional state of another in a relatively predictable way.

If you want a complete list of the new logical definitions for words then read my evergreen truth book SCIENTIFIC THESAURUS which has over 6000 logical word definitions.

THE TRUTH ABOUT REASONING

122647013

Reason: v. to try to achieve an accurate (righta conclusion(s) and/or judgment(s)) and/ or (inference(s) from a fact(s)) and/or (hypothesis(s)) and/or opinion(s)) and/or belief(s) and/or sensing with the use of the probabilities between cause(s) and effect(s) correspondences and/or set(s) and subset(s) correspondences

Most unscientific reasoning tries to connect a cause and effect or events in a probabilistic way using times as reference points.

The most successful reasoning exists in science using the scientific method of reasoning with the aid of mathematics and the concepts of sets, subsets, and variables. The results of this reasoning is frequently certainty and a 100% probability or a statistical numerical probability.

In human behavior and analysis of events there is a certain probability that exists between a cause and an effect or between relatable or corresponding events.

Deductive reasoning starts with a cause or causes and tries to deduce what the possible effects might be based on historical precedent or direct observation. Sometimes the effect or effects become a cause or causes in a chain or series of cause effect relationships or correspondences.

Inductive reasoning starts with an effect or effects and tries to determine what the cause or causes might have been or are based on historical precedent or observation.

Factual events which can be verified or known to exist are the most useful in making cause effect relationships or correspondences but some reasoning about behavior is frequently based upon historical precedents of the parties involved.

Some probabilistic conclusions are made about events which exist without seeming causes but appear to be largely random in nature.

If a human has an impeccable reputation for honesty then the probability that he is lying is minimal.  Similarly there is a high probability that one with a bad reputation is probably lying about something.

If someone has been late for work about once a month for the past six months then the probability that he will be late about once a month for the following six months is relatively high based on historical precedent.

If you define sympathy as a subset of empathy then you can conclude that there are more empathetic behaviors than sympathetic ones although the actual number may not be known. This kind of reasoning involves synthesis or analysis of a set and subsets and then making conclusions about the relationships between the set and subsets.

CONCLUSION:

Reasoning is communications about the probabilities between a cause(s) and an effect(s) or between events and communications about the relationships or correspondences between a set and its subsets or the relationships or correspondences between the subsets themselves.

Probability communications are made about the past, present, and future. Historical precedent and/or direct observations of facts are frequently the most useful in making predictions about the future.

If you reason without an understanding of probabilities, sets and subsets, and historical facts or accurate observation of facts then your reasoning ability is very bad and frequently biased by intuitive emotional reactions which are frequently inaccurate.

If you can predict emotional states of a human by observation and then control or change the emotions and behavior in a predictable way then you are using reasoning ability.

It is no wonder that politics uses very little reasoning or logic but mostly appeals to strong emotional beliefs or opinions. Humans use very little reasoning when interacting with new acquaintances but frequently make biased stereotypical conclusions about other humans based on scant information or facts which results in much misunderstanding and conflict

WHY DO HUMANS GIVE TO CHARITABLE GOALS?

1353958495_7216_donating-to-charity

Research is being done to find out why people give money to support a charitable goal. It seems that if the pleasure centers of the brain are activated then there is a greater probability of giving. The still unanswered question is why do some humans feel pleasure and others don’t when giving?

It is just a guess on my part but I feel that giving is connected to a basic belief in the charitable goal that you are giving to and having enough spare money to give in the first place.

Previous conditioning by role models who gave to charities probably affects your lifelong giving tendencies but most important is a personal strong belief in the charitable goal. I used to give to conservation organizations which I believed in when I was single and stopped doing so when I got married and had offspring and had less money to give for charitable goals. I no longer felt good about giving because my family priorities overrode charitable giving.

CONCLUSION:

You probably give to charities because it makes you feel good, because you believe in the charitable goal, and if you have some excess money to spend on the charitable goal. If you are very religious you may actually give about 10% of your income to the religious organization because you have been indoctrinated to believe that it is the right thing to do. Acting on a belief is a pleasurable experience.
