18 QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK BEFORE MARRIAGE!!!

The two most important priorities in marriage are finances and offspring. It is very smart to make sure that you are on the same page on these two topics and have similar views on spending money or perhaps even saving some. Six questions you should ask are-

How much money should we both be making before having children?

Will we have enough money saved to take care of childcare when we have a newborn or will just one of us be working for a while?

About how many offspring would you like to raise or support?

If we won $10,000 how would you spend it?

How long do you think you will be working at your current job before you either get promoted or move on to a better job elsewhere?

What kind of work do you think you will be doing ten years from now?

4 important questions to ask relate to fidelity and promiscuity which is a very important subject to discuss because next to finances adultery is the second major cause for divorce in what is turning out to be a relatively hedonous western society with an overemphasis on sex and the pursuit of pleasure.

Beware, because old bad habits are hard to break or eliminate and if your future spouse has a history of great promiscuity then the chances are great that promiscuity will continue in the future too after marriage. Another important area to probe is a possible addiction to pornography and possible kinky sexual turn-ons which should be discussed prior to marriage to see whether they may handicap a consensual sexual relationship.

Are you monogamous?

What do you consider cheating in marriage?

About how many women or men have you slept with before you met me?

What turns you on sexually?

Housework can be a source for many arguments and you should determine whose responsibility it will be beforehand or whether you will be sharing the load and be assigned tasks to do such as cleaning, doing laundry, meal preparation, doing the dishes, taking out the garbage, yardwork, gardening, etc. Hopefully you won’t get into an argument about this is women’s work or this is man’s work because routine work is work no matter who does it.

Who will be responsible for the housework or will we be sharing it and how?

In-laws can be a major source for marital disagreement especially if some of them want to get involved in your marriage. Even worse is if they decide that they want to run it for you and are always critical of one spouse and take sides in marital disagreements. It is important to get a ball park idea on how important parents and in-laws will be in a marriage, especially if they are overly critical, combative, and don’t get along well with either spouse.

How involved will we get in supporting your parents in retirement years?

What role will your family play in our marriage?

What will you do if I get into a fight with your family?

What is also important is finding out how much of an introvert or extrovert your potential spouse is. You may find a very reclusive spouse unsettling and may start complaining about being ignored. On the other hand an extreme extrovert may spend too much time with other humans and once again you may begin to feel ignored. In either case, try to find out if you are going to have to deal with an extreme introvert or an extreme extrovert which may be disruptive to marital life.

How much space or time for yourself do you need?

What things do you enjoy doing by yourself?

Many of us just live from day to day without consciously planning or thinking about the future in any significant way. Some of us do have long duration goals so it is important to know how marriage will affect those goals.

What is your goal or purpose in life and how do you envision a partner fitting into it?

Finally, compatibility is often a function of similar likes and loves so it is important to find out in some detail what your potential spouse loves, hates, likes, and dislikes. If you find out that your morality is different or that you have radically different views on raising offspring then this can become a major source of arguments, disagreements, and unnecessary turmoil.

What do you love and hate the most and what do you like and dislike?

HOW TO DISCIPLINE KIDS!!!

Crying boy being disciplined or punished.

One of the most effective ways of letting kids learn about the wrong things to do is to let them suffer the consequences.

Buy a relatively fragile toy and warn them sternly that it is fragile and it will break if thrown around or dropped from a high height. Then let the child play with the fragile toy until they wind up breaking it. Then tell them that because they were not careful enough the toy broke and tell them that it will be a long time before they will be trusted with another fragile toy again.

Obviously if the child is too young to be trusted with toxic household chemicals, dangerous medicines, or sharp objects like knives and sharp forks then these objects should be locked away in a secure place inaccessible to the child. You would not want them to suffer the bad consequences of being poisoned, cutting themselves severely with a sharp knife, or poking out an eye with a sharp fork.

The swimming pool is very dangerous for very small children and it should be fenced off until the child is taught to tread water or minimally stay afloat.

When crossing a street it is wise to hold the hand of a child and teach them to look both ways before crossing the street. If the child is not old enough to follow you across the street without running out into it then you must continue to hold the child’s hand until the child follows you obediently across the street on their own.

Logical consequences can also be taught with consistency.

If a child begins to throw a toy around which is not meant to be thrown then it can be removed and placed on a shelf for the rest of the day. A toy which is meant to be shared can similarly be removed for a day if sharing does not occur. If the children are old enough to tell time then you can request that each child share a toy for 10 minutes at a time. Once again, if the toy is not appropriately shared then it can be removed for the day. Sometimes a toy can be shared on a daily basis and one child may have it on Monday and the other can have it to play with on a Tuesday, etc.

Before bedtime it is a good time to put toys away. If the child does not put the toys away then you can threaten to put the toys in a box and not make them available for the next day of playing. If the child still refuses to put the toys away then follow through with the threat and box up the toys and remove them to a safe place out of reach for the next day.

Bathing, brushing teeth, and putting dirty clothes into a laundry hamper is a good routine to get into before bedtime. Once again a threat to remove a favorite toy for a day or a few days may be used to get compliance. Not highly recommended but possible is to force a child to put dirty clothes in a hamper by physically making them go through the motions by grabbing the child’s hand and moving his or her body from clothes to hamper until all the dirty clothes have been dropped in.

If a child does not finish dinner then that is just fine but warn them that they will be given no food or snacks until the next meal time. Children these days are overfed and missing one or two meals is not a tragic or unacceptable circumstance. Our ancestors sometimes went days without eating and even fasted at certain times and frankly only ate when hungry.

Another technique used by parents to stuff their kids is to say that you will only get desert if you finish your meal. Frankly, desert should be maybe a once in a week event since overconsumption of sweets is a major cause of diabetes and other eating problems. Supermarkets are overflowing with sugar added to lousy over processed foods of all kinds and is a major reason why many humans no longer eat healthy well balanced organic food meals.

For children fighting scolding in a loud voice can help and if that fails separating them physically and carrying one off to sit in a chair in a corner by themselves for an hour or so is usually effective. If a child throws a tantrum in a public place then physically removing them from that location and getting them to quiet or cool down in the car or outside the public location usually works if reinforced with the words-are you now ready to go back and behave?

Withholding a child’s privileges works well for all ages.

Withholding a cherished toy, not letting a child play outdoors for a day, or not letting him or her play with a playmate are privileges which can be withheld for bad behavior or as a form of discipline. For older children taking away a cellphone or computer for a day or week and grounding them for a given time are ways to get compliance with household rules and good behavior.

Spanking is usually not recommended but there may be certain children who are becoming compulsive liars or stealers and adults can be severely punished for these behaviors. Explain first to the children that lying and stealing destroys the trust between humans and they can no longer be good friends or no one will believe them anymore and that adults are punished for stealing with fines and jail. The threat of spanking should first be done for serious lying or stealing and then a consistent follow through with the spanking punishment if the intentional lying or stealing occurs again.

Discuss the logical consequences or reasons why bad behavior should not be tolerated.

Parents are usually not very good at this.

Reasons against fighting can be physical pain or harm on another, causing aggressive emotions and actions in another or probable bad retaliation, parents don’t physically fight with one another because they love one another and want to live together peacefully, and finally adult fighting is called physical abuse or battery and aggression punishable by jail time.

Reasons against yelling indoors is that it disturbs or annoys others who may not be able to concentrate on what they are doing, it is usually done in emergencies such as an accident, and it is usually done outdoors to cover a larger communication distance and to signal danger such as a speeding car or bicycle, etc.

Reasons for being polite, kind, considerate, empathetic, and friendly is that most humans will like you more and may even become a friend.

Non negotiable arguments for younger children.

There are just times when something isn’t fair in the child’s mind or when the child asserts his or her stubborn self and refuses to do something no matter how reasonable it may be. These are time when the parent has to say “yes, it isn’t fair” or “I know” and proceeds to enforce the rules saying Me and Mom are in charge of the family and rule enforcement and we are the final authority in making decisions for the children in the family. When you have children of your own then you can be the boss over them when they are young.

Finally the most important thing is to be a good role model for your children since most children ultimately behave like their parents later in life and act the same way towards their own children also. If you want your children to not smoke, not drink, not do drugs, not curse, not gamble, not fight, not frequently argue and if you want them to be polite, kind, courteous, empathetic, friendly, and loving then be that way yourself and interact appropriately with your spouse and other humans.

WANT SUCCESSFUL OFFSPRING? DO THESE 9 THINGS!!!

Don’t tell them they can be anything that they want but steer them into good paying professions.

Eating dinner as a family has social and verbal benefits.

Enforce or limit screen time on tablets and cellphones to about an hour for young children and have them engage with the real world of books, playing, etc.

When mothers work outside the home then daughters tend to also hold more responsible jobs when they grow up.

Offspring with greater success tended to do chores as a child.

Offspring who learn delayed gratification or do unpleasant things at home without being instantly rewarded tended to perform better in careers.

Reading to young children and teaching them to read as soon as possible is an aid in better performance in school and elsewhere.

Let them fail and learn from their mistakes on their own builds character.

Let them travel to other locations and to foreign countries if possible since this stimulates a desire to try new things and appreciate different points of view.

What this list does not include is the fundamental fact that if the parents are trustworthy or have integrity, dependability, competence, and good communication skills then their offspring also tend to follow in their footsteps personality wise.

SHARING 20 MODERN EVERYDAY MONEY AND ENERGY SAVING SENTENCES TO TEACH YOUR CHILD, SPOUSE, AND CLOSE FRIEND!!!!!

6f476dbc98eec0fe1b0931fce87e4f1a

The happy cat lapped up the water at room temperature which was in a semi-circular 500ml bowl and ate the table scrap diced raw meat or fish from another similar shaped 500ml bowl and a third similar stainless steel bowl which contained whole milk from the refrigerator.

When we are away from home for one or two weeks we place some organic dry cat food in a self feeding tray with self feeding water tray and make sure the litter box is accessible and filled with odor reducing cat litter. No cat care is necessary during vacation time or extended stays away from home.

All the 3 bowls lay on an easy to clean vinyl floor cleaned with a cheap money saving steam mop which only has to be used about once every 6 months since the cat and family are careful not to spill food or milk on the floor and walk in with dirty shoes but everyone moves around the house in their bare feet or thick white cotton socks in the winter time.

We never have a safety problem because both us and the children don’t run in the house but walk slowly and don’t slip on the smooth floor in our socks in the winter time.

We all try to eat healthy certified organic food without frying it in oils so we have only water cleanup for the dishes easily and efficiently done by hand with warm water and sponge.

We save a lot of money and energy by not using the dishwasher, oven or frying our food on a pan and practically have no need for soap or unnatural cleaning aids. We clean everything with tap water or very warm water or steamed water!

Let’s compress the beach towel and get it as dry as possible by using both hands

The dewdrops on the grass are caused by the condensation of water vapor in the air onto the blades of grass where it shows itself in liquid form as droplets.

The dewdrops disappear in about half an hour because they are evaporated by the heat of the sun’s energy when the sun begins to shine in the morning.

That is a porous sponge with many holes in it that absorbs the water very well and so is your paper towel very porous with a lot of air trapped between the paper fibers which absorb the water fast and efficiently saving you time.

The water in your glass is a form of liquid matter which when poured into the glass takes on the shape of its contoured or nongeometric shape.

When you hear a high pitch in the music you listen to which sounds very shrill the reason is that the frequency of the sound wave entering your ear is also high, or high frequency sound impacting your eardrum.

When it snows the snow comes from the clouds where the temperature is usually much below freezing thus causing the formation of water crystals or snowflakes each with its own unique design pattern of water crystals.

If you don’t have a high compression ratio in your car cylinders or a high performance car such as a BMW you can use regular gas in all other cars and save a lot of money with the same good mileage economy that premium gas gives you.

Premium gas does not make your car stronger or run better so save a boatload of money with regular gas in your family car.

When you drive your car the potential or stored energy in your gasoline is released into kinetic energy which moves the parts of your car that make it go forward fast or slow by releasing more potential energy when going fast than when moving at slower speeds.

Money is like stored potential energy and the faster and longer you drive the more energy you use up and also you use up more money the faster you spend it and the longer you live.

The lesson is to not do jackrabbit takeoffs with the car which waste a lot of energy or money and only try to use your car for necessary trips or you are wasting a lot of money or energy going places for no particular reason other than perhaps the thrill of the ride which will cost you plenty by the end of the month when you have big bills to pay.

The cost per kilowatt hour is 12 cents for electricity and it costs about 75 cents per kilowatt hour for solar power or 6 times more expensive or 6 times more money.

If you use solar power for your home for heating up water in the pool or your water heater or for charging your batteries it will cost you 6 times more money than using electricity.

Stay away from solar power unless you are powering an electrical device while hiking in the woods, in a remote farm area, or in the desert without access to electrical power.

Remember on cloudy days and at night your solar power will be useless since you won’t have any sunlight or power your electrical devices.

AN OVERVIEW OF WHAT MARRIAGE IS AND ISN’T!!!

the-trouble-with-modern-marriage

The article by Margaret Rutherford is informative but falls short in describing marriage as being pretty simple and not rocket science. Kindness, Respect, Loyalty is not all that is needed. A prerequisite is a good enough salary to support a family and commonly shared morals which means not lying, stealing, or being adulterous. Loyalty to an immoral, undependable, and abusive poor communicator is sheer stupidity and the relationship will never last long because you can’t respect such a human.

If you can’t afford a family financially then don’t get married until you can, otherwise you will have to become dependent on your parent’s handouts or welfare and pregnancy will probably destroy whatever tenuous relationship you have together.

I also disagree that marriage is getting teary-eyed together which coming from a female writer is very biased personal thinking. I have never been teary-eyed together with my wife and neither have millions of other males.

GETTING MARRIED? DISCUSS THESE 15 IMPORTANT THINGS!!!

preparing-marriage

Before getting married you should ask these 15 questions and avoid unnecessary conflict and misunderstandings later in marriage. There is nothing better than thoroughly understanding WHAT YOU WANT and WHEN YOU WANT IT in a marriage and mutually agreeing to it.

THE TRUTH ABOUT OFFSPRING

parents-who-discipline-their-children

If you are employed and married with offspring then offspring will cost you much money and will become priority number one in your lives. Love will have to be shared with spouse and offspring.

Especially when they are young and if you have more than one, offspring will take up much of your time and will have to be disciplined appropriately and taught many basic social skills from scratch.

Teaching how to share toys and even food is a constant struggle since offspring are very selfish when they start out and their behavior will constantly overflow into an area called bad behavior which is unacceptable and will need constant supervision.

The rebellion of the teenage years is going to be difficult. If they haven’t been taught to be as independent and responsible as possible then they will begin to feel entitled and this may last on into early adulthood with unemployed offspring living with parents and not being able to survive on their own in the real world.

Young adults frequently still don’t know what they want to be in life and a liberal arts background may make them job poor and only qualified to work at minimum wage doing something not very rewarding or satisfying.

Having responsible offspring who like to work hard and have acquired a truly useful technological educational background is a rarity and if you can motivate offspring in such a direction then they will be dependent on your financial support for a much shorter duration.

Offspring above all need good role models to imitate and if you are not a good role model and can’t find good ones to associate with then your offspring will imitate your bad habits and not grow up well. They will probably not become well adjusted employed adults and parents themselves.

CONCLUSION:

Parenting basically means being a good role model. If you come from a dysfunctional family then you also will probably be a bad parent and you should seriously consider having no offspring at all or just one.

Not only will it cost you less financially but if you ruin your offspring’s life it will be just one life and not more than one life ruined due to your incompetence.

If you have serious personality flaws or addictions to compulsive shopping, promiscuity, gambling, pornography, alcohol and drugs, etc. then you should have no offspring at all nor should you probably marry because divorce is almost inevitable.

You may consider yourself to be a good role model but remember that raising offspring in an increasingly hedonistic immoral society which is tolerant of lying and deceptions is going to be an uphill struggle if you want to raise honest, sincere, reliable, trustworthy, and functional offspring.

Parenting is hard, time consuming, expensive work. If you have better or more important things to do with your life then don’t become a parent. The world does not really need more humans on the face of this precious, endangered, overpopulated planet.

If you liked this evergreen truth blog then read more of them, approximately 600 so far, and one or more of my evergreen truth books, especially COMMON SENSE, rays of truth in a human world filled with myths and deceptions.

WATCH OUT!!! OFFSPRING WILL IMITATE YOU AND OTHER HUMANS!!!!!!

Girl-Imitating-Adult

   IMITATION

Imitation or copying one’s behavior is the way that over 90% of behavior learning exists.  Offspring start by imitating their parents, but soon also start imitating their brothers, sisters, friends and rolemodels.  Offspring need good rolemodels to imitate, and in the absence of good rolemodels, offspring will struggle to become good citizens in society.

Motivating your offspring to copy your good behaviors and the good behaviors of others is one of the most important jobs that you have as a parent.  But since every parent is less than perfect, the odds are very great that another human(s) can do what the parent should do, only much better.   If an offspring is to grow up to be better than the parents, it is an important responsibility for a parent to find the good human(s) and identify it for the offspring,  a human(s) who possesses better behaviors and useful new or better skills.

The following expressions urge your children to copy yourself and others.

“Do it because I do it!”

“Copy me.”

“I’ll show you how.”

“Try to be an adult like me.”

“Maybe you can do it like me.”

“I will teach you as much as I can if you just do what I do.”

“Let me show you how to do it.”

“If I can do it better than you then try to copy it.”

“Imitate the leader.”

“You will be closer to being a big boy by doing it.  You will be doing it just like dad!”

“My but you are starting to behave like a big girl.   You do it just like mom!”

“Focus on me so that you will probably do it next time by yourself.”

“Practice it with me and soon you will be as good as me.”

“If you copy you will learn all the necessary behaviors quickly.”

“Copy your brother and/or sister and/or uncle and/or aunt and/or grandfather and/or grandmother and/or friend and/or teacher and/or coach and/or rolemodel.”

CAN ONE LOVE AND HATE OFFSPRING AT THE SAME TIME?

Love-and-hate-1

Yes. One can love and hate an offspring at the same time. You may impulsively love to hit an offspring and simultaneously hate the thought of making the offspring cry.  The emotion is ambivalent.  For example loving anger at misbehavior and sympathetic disappointment at failing school grades, or hopeful frustration at an inability to play a musical instrument or fearful pride in watching one do well at go cart racing are all possible ambivalent emotions when two emotions mix.

Not known until now is the fact that more than two emotions can exist simultaneously in a human.

Angfehal: v. to sense anger and fear and hatred and love simultaneously.

When you learn of an adulterous relationship instantly from some source and believe it you can feel angry at your spouse whom you love, you hate your spouse for being deceptive and you fear that the relationship might have to end. This is the ambivalence of 4 simultaneous emotions. Add to this jealousy and you have 5 simultaneous emotions existing mentally.

Angfehat: v. to sense anger and fear and hatred simultaneously

This combinations of three emotions happens when you find out that your offspring has been taking illegal drugs for the first time. You are angry that he or she has broken the law or your no drug rule, you hate their bad behavior, and you fear that they may have become addicted to the drug.

Will science ever pinpoint the origin of emotions in the brain or describe how the brain experiences ambivalent emotions? Never! The emotional variables in the brain are so many and so complex that a definition of an emotion is not enough to determine a one to one correspondence with the emotion and behavior in a human brain!!!!!!

Any statistical analysis of emotions with questionnaires is extremely subjectively biased chaotic data which has absolutely no relevance or correspondence to human existence and 100% of such misleading “clinical studies” should cease immediately. There is almost no statistically relevant social and political “science” data which should be gathered and analyzed about emotions because cause and effect relationship observation is not possible!!!!!!

A parent can prevent an offspring who exhibits hated behaviors from feeling that he or she is primarily an object of hatred by communicating to the offspring that he or she is still loved as a whole when an offspring does something very bad.  Parents should point out that only the bad behavior is the object of the hatred and not the offspring himself or herself:  “I hate your very bad behavior but I don’t hate you but love you!”
